Creating Adaptive Learning Paths Using Scenarios in Articulate Storyline 360

April 17, 2025

*Note: This video is a continuation of the previous video on Adaptive Learning.

Adaptive learning paths powered by interactive scenarios create a personalized learning experience that adjusts based on the learner’s choices. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, this method tailors content to individual needs, skill levels, or behaviours, keeping learners engaged and focused on what matters most to them. By embedding decision points and consequences, interactive scenarios simulate real-life situations, helping learners build confidence and apply knowledge in context. The result? Smarter learning journeys that feel relevant, efficient, and impactful.

In this video, I’m walking you through how to build out a simple interactive branching scenario where the branching is based on learner selections at two decision points. You can apply this approach to very simply or incredibly complex scenarios.

Adaptive Feedback Based on Role Selection in Articulate Storyline 360

April 15, 2025

*Note: This video is a continuation of the previous video on Adaptive Learning.

Customizing learner feedback based on role selection is a powerful way to increase relevance, engagement, and retention. Learners receiving feedback tailored to their specific role can help make the learning experience more meaningful and relevant to them by connecting the content to their day-to-day responsibilities. This approach acknowledges a single audience’s diverse backgrounds, in turn creating a more personalized and inclusive learning experience.

In this video, I’m showing you how you can easily customize learner feedback on assessment questions based on their initial role selection.

Creating a Simple Test Out Opportunity in Articulate Storyline 360

January 9, 2025

In this video, I’m showing you how you can allow learners to test out of content within an Articulate Storyline 360 course. I’ll preface this by saying that when creating test-out assessment items, you will want to ensure the assessment items are well-written and allow the learners to demonstrate mastery of the content for which they may be testing out of taking.

This strategy can be employed at the course level (e.g., testing out of a full course) or the module/topic level (testing out of a smaller chunk of content) and can be beneficial when there are concerns about length of time spent taking training or maintaining multiple versions of courses (e.g., one for existing employees and one for new hires). These are just a couple of use cases.

The programmatic setup is super simple – you’ll mainly be working with a test out intro slide, a draw from question bank, and a result slide. Passing the assessment funnels the learner to the end course slide whereas failing the assessment funnels the learner to the start of the content slides.

Sometimes finding just the right image in just the right image style can be tricky. However, the AI Assistant in Articulate Storyline 360 makes that so much easier. In this video, I’m showing you how I use AI Assistant to help generate a very specific image based on a prompt, and then add any appropriate image generations to my media library.

Generating Voice Audio Using AI Assistant in Articulate Storyline 360

September 26, 2024

The AI Assistant in Articulate Storyline 360 is super handy when it comes to generating AI voiceover. They leverage ElevenLabs and while the selection is still limited (there are about 52 voices to choose from now), it provides – in my opinion – higher quality voiceover than the standard neural voices within Storyline 360. In this video, I’m sharing how I leverage the AI Assistant to first draft my slide voiceover and then again to generate the AI audio.
