Blogmas Day 6: 2016 Blog Review

December 28, 2016

Christy Tucker’s 2016 Blog Review inspired this post. I certainly don’t have 10 years of blogging, but I do have some numbers!

2016 Statistics

  • Total Posts: 90!
  • Average Daily Views: 1,701.25
  • Average Monthly Views: 35,609.83

How do I feel about those numbers? They’re absolutely bananas! I’m so happy to have the readership that I do, and I’m glad I’ve been able to provide you all with interesting and/or relevant content (somehow 90 posts worth this year). Interestingly enough, I’d down about 1% of total views for the year compared to 2015, but I still think the blog is doing pretty great!

Most Popular Posts in 2016

The most popular posts in 2016 are as follows:

Wow, that is fantastic! 90 posts in a year is remarkable consistency in posting. Your views are also great–much higher than mine!

I’m curious. How much of your traffic comes from search engines versus other sources?

I just checked, and the average seems to be about 9% per month from search engines.

Interesting! Around half of my traffic is via search engines, very different from yours. That’s one reason my stats are down from my high point; I used to rank higher for a few key phrases (like instructional designer). Google’s algorithm changes make more of a difference in my stats when search engines are such a large chunk of my traffic.

What are your primary referral sources?

Thanks! I should be more active on Twitter.
